Dr. Carmen Monico just got published in global-impact journal on intercountry adoptions

Dr. Monico, Co-Director for the Joint Master’s Social Work (JMSW) Program of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT) and University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), and Associate Professor in the JMSW and JPhD programs in social work got an article published in the last 2022 issue of Adoption Quarterly, the most prestigious journal for adoption research internationally.

As the lead author of this article, Dr. Monico builds on follow up to own dissertation research and country of expertise, Guatemala. The article is aimed at policymakers, advocates, and practitioners around the world involved in intercountry adoption globally, as it draws lessons learned from the moratorium of international adoptions from Guatemala to inform future practice in the field of intercountry adoption.
